Call to Worship

One: The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof,
All: the world and those who dwell therein;
One: for God has founded it upon the seas,
All: and established it upon the rivers.
One: Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord?
All: And who shall stand in God’s holy place?
One: Those who have clean hands and pure hearts,
All: will receive vindication from the God of their salvation.

A Statement of Faith of the Korean Methodist Church

All: We believe in the one God, creator and sustainer of all things, Father of all nations, the source of all goodness and beauty, all truth and love.

All: We believe in Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh, our teacher, example, and Redeemer, the Savior or the world.

All: We believe in the Holy Spirit, God present with us for guidance, for comfort, and for strength.

All: We believe in the forgiveness of sins, in the life of love and prayer, and in grace equal to every need.

All: We believe in the Word of God contained in the Old and New Testaments as sufficient rule both of faith and of practice.

All: We believe in the church, those who are united in the living Lord for the purpose of worship and service.

All: We believe in the reign of God as the divine will realized in human society, and in the family of God, where we are all brothers and sisters.

All: We believe in the final triumph of righteousness and in the life everlasting. Amen.

Scripture Reading

‘Love should be shown without pretending. Hate evil, and hold on to what is good. Love each other like the members of your family. Be the best at showing honor to each other. Don’t hesitate to be enthusiastic—be on fire in the Spirit as you serve the Lord! Be happy in your hope, stand your ground when you’re in trouble, and devote yourselves to prayer. Contribute to the needs of God’s people, and welcome strangers into your home. Bless people who harass you—bless and don’t curse them. Be happy with those who are happy, and cry with those who are crying. Consider everyone as equal, and don’t think that you’re better than anyone else. Instead, associate with people who have no status. Don’t think that you’re so smart. Don’t pay back anyone for their evil actions with evil actions, but show respect for what everyone else believes is good. ‘

Romans 12:9-17

Response to Scripture

One: This is the word of God for the people of God.

All: Thanks be to God.
