CALL TO WORSHIP
One: God so loved the world that he gave his only Son that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
All: Let those who know they are redeemed celebrate it! Those who have been reclaimed from deep trouble!
One:Though we were as good as dead, God made us alive with the grace of Christ
through whom we are rescued and healed.
All: O give thanks to God for such unswerving love, for such wonderful deeds for the children of earth.
Prayer of the People
Will you please join me in affirming our faith through prayer:
O God, just as we look into a mirror to see any soiled spots on our face, so let us look to you in order to understand the things that we have done amiss.
We are like a reed shaken in the wind; we are inexpressibly weak. Leave us not to ourselves, but dwell in our hearts and guide our thoughts and actions. Amen.
But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.
God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
